They say the best way to get "over" somebody is to get "under" someone else... looks like LeBron is trying to get "over" by getting "in" to a new sneaker...

Following up the Nike Air Max LeBron VII , the Low version looks to keep us fresh for summer. It's no secret that this shoe has become one of my favorite shoes of all-time (including wearing the AMVII Navy's today) and the low definitely has me hyped. Nike has confirmed the June 4th release of this colorway.

White leather is utilized on the mudguard and ankle area, which is matched on almost every element on the sneaker. A very small amount of gold appears on outsole toe and heel, top eyelet and heel emblem. Would have like some more contrast on the swoosh and perhaps stitching but still overall pleased.

With Summer kicked off officially as of yesterday and feeling all emo, I can't help but want a pair of vans to wear with shorts and rolled up jeans; "jorts" perhaps. NYC's Supreme and Vans hooked up again for this season’s second collaborative run of sneakers. The latest release includes the the Sk8-Hi Mid and the Era. Really dig the custom bleached denim upper, while the soles use a red glen check pattern. Like icing on the cake, the pairs are co-branded with a “Vans x Supreme” rubber heel tab. Have you ever wanted to go ape shit in Mervyn's? I mean, REALLY APE SHIT? If you're into .75 beers, DUI, and a high probability of contracting something via breathing, Electric Cowboy/Mervyn's is the place for you.

In a attempt to meet up with a friend, we headed off to the Westminster mall. Well, across the street from the mall. A little leery of EC, first thing we notice is how packed the parking lot is. Good Sign.

Walk in and there is a 3.00 cover. How does one come up with such a cover? 2.00 is not enough but 4.00 is out of the question. You know it's a good place when the drink specials are so strict that they have a "one in, one out" policy meaning in order to get .75 drinks, you have to bring a bottle or glass back in order to get another. I personally think this is to deter Electric Cowboy's patrons from procreating but Danny thinks it's to stop binge drinking. Uhuhhuh?

Musical selection was a constant mix of 4-5 dance/top 40 followed by 4-5 country songs. Plenty of line dancing followed by the "to the left, to the left" song and dance (forgive me for not being an asshole and knowing the name of said song).

One thing that can be said for EC is that the crowd, no matter how raucous or rowdy, are not a bunch of pretentious fucks who are looking you head to toe judging. They may look at you head to toe because they want to fight you for looking at Becky, but not to judge you. At one point, there was a running inquiry as to the higher % of people: A. With DUI's , B. Women that were mothers , C. People that had to be at work @ 7am... We ultimately decided that there was a higher number of people with all A, B, and C then just one of the options.

Not a bad night, especially if you're looking for high fives *wink*, and like Rudolph.. Electric Cowboy/Mervyn's, you'll go down in history.

After being a bit put off by the naming of the shoe, couldn't help but get a chuckle from Supra's special Skytop II “Cinco de Drinko.” White full-grain leather is used for the majority of the shoe, Mexican blanket-inspired fabric appears at the base of the upper, as well as around the ankle area. These also appear to pay homage to the long history of boxing in the Mexican culture as this is a boxing shoe, isn't it? Oh, no? An exclusive release of 200 pairs will be available tomorrow only at Factory 413.

So dope. Still 'member watching the Mrs. run this thing in '07. So many people going through so much pain to run this event. But I suppose if you're gonna run 26+ miles, NYC would be the place to do it. I saw people running in Chewbaaca and Darth Vader costumes, an Iraqi war vet running in a gas mask, saw people in Harlem breaking through the runners lane with shopping carts and bikes wondering why this event should disturb their day-to-day lives, saw dudes with blood stained shirts because their nipples had been rubbed raw. Saw a young girl in an exhausted heap, balling on the subway because she didn't finish. The best thing was seeing my wife at the finish line complete her first marathon completely exhausted and exuberant at same time. Weepy-weepy.

Sounds Supreme is back and Field Day Radio is now on many of your ipods/Cd players/etc. We want to keep this going strong every week, present new music from across the spectrum as well as deliver timeless classics. On this episode we have the likes of Bloc Party, Amanda Blank, Kenna, Lupe Fiasco, Nas, Donwill, and a bunch of other dope artists. Next month we'll have DJ Styles N Fashion in the mix as well as an episode that will set off the Summer in a proper way. It will include all songs that remind us of Summer.
